A Note About Noting

If you want to contact me in a general way, leaving a comment on my profile is the best way unless it's absolutely private/personal, as I tend to really suck at remembering to respond to Notes. Sorry. ^^;

It's come to my attention that the Wiki has been running about $2/day short on their operating costs. So if you have $5 or $10 to spare, why not throw it at them? I figure if enough of us do so, we can buy them at least a few months of being in the black, as $2 isn't that much of a difference to have to make up. Considering what a valuable resource they are for the TF fiction, I think it's worth it!

Just go to [link] and scroll all the way down and look for the Donate button on the left-hand side. :)

I just wanted to let you know that I have read your thread in the Politics forum and your reply on the other thread about unemployment, and totally agree with you.

I didn't want to say anything on the forum because some people were starting to attack your posts, and I had started a similar topic and got attacked as well.

But you are so right- to some people there just isn't any excuse to be poor or unemployed. If you are, you are just a good-for-nothing lazy louse who deserved it. Never mind that you may have had your house burn down, or survived a hurricane, or whatever.

In my case, my mother (who was already disabled to a degree) was diagnosed with terminal cancer and needed to have care full-time. She couldn't afford to pay for a caregiver, so I more or less had to do it. Which meant quitting my job and moving across state to become another unpaid family caregiver. I wasn't earning wages but I still paid for my food and other necessities by donating blood plasma. But believe me, I got flak from people- even some family members who called me lazy and criticized me severely for not getting a job! Good grief, I was taking full-time care of my dying mother, how could I possibly get a job??!

But that didn't matter to people whose minds are made up. I could tell you a lot more, but I'm already taking up too much room on your page.

(BTW, I'm doing OK now. Mom passed a couple of years ago and I now have full-time work.)

Atheists have more faith than anyone. It's much easier for me to believe that a holy God created the universe than to believe that everything happened by chance.
